Important Cultural Event News

Before I get into recounting the adventures of the Millbrooker clan over the festive season, a quick date for your diaries.

GIGSPANNER

will be returning to the Maker with Rame Community Hall.

I've just had an email from Peter Knight and his lovely partner, Deborah, to say that there are to be two gigs this coming summer.

04th and 05th July 2008

Tickets aren't yet on sale, but they should be available in the next few weeks:

As anyone who made the trip to Kingsand last summer will tell you, this is a band that you shouldn't miss. I can't recommend it highly enough. There's a review of the 2007 gig at

http://themillbrooker.blogspot.com/2007/06/gigspanner-did-their-stuff.html

The band comprises Peter Knight on fiddle, Roger Flack on guitar and Vincent Salzfaas on percussion. Peter is probably best known for his work with Steeleye Span with whom he's worked for more years than any of us would care to remember.

These guys are amongst the best at their game and, trust me, you really do want to be there for at least one of these forthcoming gigs due to take place only a few minutes walk from this pretty little village called Millbrook (nearly by the sea).

With apologies to Pete Stanniforth for stealing his lyric.
