Another Day, Another Island

Holiday Diary Part III
Are you fed up with this yet?
"Feeling a bit like a rock band on tour – “if this is Sunday it must be La Palma” – we awoke to find ourselves berthed at Santa Cruz de La Palma. Gets confusing, doesn’t it?

Let’s go from the beginning: Santa Cruz de Tenerife (start); Las Palmas, Gran Canaria (day two); Santa Cruz de La Palma (day three). Why these people can’t give their islands and towns names that sound a tad more distinguishable from each other, I’ll never know.

Anyway, here’s Motörhead arriving at their latest gig venue; from L-R Philthy Animal Trickers, Lemmy and Fast Eddie Millbrookeress.
Mrs the Millbrooker and I were quite taken with Santa Cruz (de La Palma – not to be confused with Santa Cruz Tenerife, do keep up). About the right sort of size for us (i.e. not very big), with some lovely surrounding scenery.

And some very attractive architecture.

In fact, we liked it so much that we started fantasizing about over-wintering there, but we only had a few hours before, like the true rockers we are, it was time to cast the groupies aside and move on to the next gig. Mental notes to return have duly been made. This is Santa Cruz as we sailed away:
That evening, again just like the true rockers we are, we felt obliged to sample some drinkies in the jazz bar. The glass of extreme toxin in my little mitts is something they call a B52. It’s very, very alcoholic. No further photos exist of the evening due to an inexplicable inability to focus properly.
