I'm rushed off my feet at the moment with long shifts at work, hence a bit of a dearth of postings. This one's going to be pretty short, too. I've just got in after eight and a half hours slaving over a hot (and incredibly dense) public at the ticket windows and some minor socialising beckons after I've done my 20 minutes French learning - so, very quickly...
After Tuesday night's watching the fireworks from Cap'n Matt's boat, we spent Wednesday night watching fireworks from near the folly at Mt Edgecumbe.
We knocked Don up at his Baggins-like abode where the kindly host did what he does best and proffered some very decent Valpolicella that he'd been given and wanted to share. After only a brief slurping session, Shazzerooneypoos drove us to the heights of Maker and we trogged through delightfully sheep-poo covered fields to the viewpoint. Mrs The Millbrooker and The Little Unlush Lewis (as driver she wasn't at all lush, sticking to tonic water all evening) soon had the picnic blanket in place...
...and we settled down to nibble at snacky things and slurp at a plentiful supply of red stuff.A jolly fine time was had and we were joined by The Wizzers of Soz and her beau. And her beau's mum, Mary (L-R: Shazzerooneypoos, Dong, me, Mary, The Wizzers of Soz and BeauMatt).
The main point of me waffling on about fireworks again, though, is to show off a set of photos from the night. Unlike the shots from the boat, I didn't have to counteract wave motion, so I could hold the camera a tad more steady.
I'm quite proud of these.
