New Year's Eve

It's that time of year again. 2009 is all but over, and 2010 has yet to reveal its suitability as a vintage year for Millbrookians.

Once again, Millbrooker Towers will be opening its doors on New Year's Eve to all and sundry who (a) know where it is and (b) are vaguely familiar to Mrs The Millbrooker and/or me.

All the usual rules apply, i.e. we don't mind if you want to just look in for a drink or two before heading off elsewhere. Equally we don't mind if you stay for the whole evening. There's no obligation to do anything you don't want to (except that everyone present at midnight will be expected to at least mumble Auld Lang Syne and do the hand-shaky-crossed-arm-thingy at the same time).

Basic provisions of red and white stuff will be on hand (there might even be a couple of bottles of beer); if you are thinking of staying for more than a couple then a bottle for the supplies will be much appreciated.

Some years we get just a half dozen or so through the door; one year we memorably ended up with well over twenty.....who knows how the numbers will turn out this year?

Whatever, if you satisfy (a) and (b) above - please drop by, we'd love to see you. Doors open at 7:30pm and we'll be trying to lever the stragglers (Jed) back out at around 1ish.

I'd pop over with a bottle of NZ red but it's a bit far to drive. So instead I'll take my bottle next door, like I usually do. Cheers and Happy New Year to you.
