Oops. Bugger, bugger, bugger.

Or words to that effect. At least, I imagine that something of that order crossed the mind of the Co-op lorry driver yesterday as he discovered that Millbrook's Blindwell Hill, large vehicles and burnt out clutches really don't mix.

Was it a classic follow-the-sat-nav-regardless-of-the-evidence-of-your-own-eyes moment? Was it simply bad luck or dodgy judgment? Your guess, my friends, is as good as mine.
Needless to say, not only did this block the route and cause consternation to the home owner with a lorry stuck in their wall. It also meant that the delivery of goods to the co-op was somewhat delayed.

Not to be put off, everyone's favourite co-op manager Darren got to work with the trolleys, unloading uphill from the rear of the stricken vehicle and wheeling the much needed groceries to the shop along Fore Street and up West Street.
And people say nothing happens in Cornish villages. Makes me wonder what people do for entertainment in towns.

Thank you to Mrs the Millbrooker for taking the photos while I was at work.
