Bern the Lens In Public

Bern the Lens has sent me an email, and it contains exciting news for railway fans, so listen up.

Master local historian, fount of all knowledge and all round good egg, Bern the Lens, is giving one of his slide shows and talks, which are legendarily both fun and informative. If you have any interest in local history or in the railways in particular, going to listen to Bern and see some of his historically important slides should be placed into your diary immediately.

Here's the details, and I quote directly from Bern the Lens himself:

"The Railways of Plymouth Part 2"
a slide show by Bernard Mills

featuring mainly the ex Southern Railway lines.
Venue: Buckland Monachorum Village Hall
Saturday 08 Nov commencing at 1930.
Small admission charge and all are welcome.

I believe there's a fine pub serving excellent ale close by to the slide show venue, so get along there if you can.
The pictures on this posting are the covers of Bern's two published books - ideal Christmas presents for the railway enthusiast in your life; I believe that Cousin Dave is hoping for a copy of either from Father Christmas.

How about a film club "Awayday" to Buckland on Saturday?
I am coastwatching until 5-30pm but should be back in time.
