There was an answerphone message at Millbrooker Towers yesterday; it's a shame that I'm on silly shifts this week - it would have been a great call to catch.
All of Millbrook's favourite first-cousin-once-removed called on her 8th birthday. In this case it's 8 + 0 = 8! Yep, my ever-lovely Auntie Jean entered her ninth decade yesterday, still as delightfully nutty as she's always been (have no fear of my apparent rudeness, dear reader, Auntie Jean would be hate to be thought of as "normal" in any way). The photo above shows Auntie Jean when she was a mere stripling of 77 during a visit to Millbrook on Black Prince Day 2006; we've not seen her in these parts for a short while now.
We're due another Safari Supper on the 4th of July (I think) so there'll be a special toast to Auntie Jean from the Millbrook Glitterati. Until then here's one of the traditional toasts to Auntie Mag and Uncle Bill's little girl taken at Comb-Over Cottage with (L-R) Shazzerooneypoos, Liability, Mrs The Millbrooker, Comb-Over, Cap'n Sump, La Sumpetta and (centre foreground) my hand.
I'm sure everyone will join me in wishing Auntie Jean a very happy birthday.
Altogether now (except Dong because we'd like to stick to just the one key): "Happy Birthday to you...Happy birthday to you...Happy birthday dear Auntie Jean...Happy birthday to you."
