A New Pope

Mrs The Millbrooker and I were a trifle confused at the weekend when she received a mysterious text from Shazzerooneypoos.

The message read:
"Dong says 'What's the name of the new pope?' "
Or words very much to that effect.


New pope? What's he on about? More to the point, has he been at the sauce again? Yes, of course he has. These were all thoughts that crossed our minds in a flash.


Then, eventually, the Dong-logic dawned on us.


I was doing one of those dusk-time gardening jobs and the signals had been read from across the valley.
