Birding on the lake, again

Just a couple of shots that I'm reasonably pleased with, even though they're at full zoom and a wee bit shaky.


First up, a couple of little grebes were very cross with other and there was lots of squabbling and splashing going on; just look at him go...

Serenity was restored soon after and the small creatures just carried on bobbing about as usual. They've left the lake now, as they do each spring to breed elsewhere, but we should see them again come autumn.
During the same short pootle, we spotted one of the grey herons that frequents the tidal creek below the dam hunting in the shallows.

Millbrook's a pretty decent spot to live if you like birding.
