Happy New Ears

A quick message before Mrs The Millbrooker and I launch ourselves into a manic few hours of prepping bedrooms and cleaning up the living room from our own Christmas detritus. All so that we can present a moderately accommodating space for those who choose to spend some of New year's Eve with us.

Many of you will already know about the Millbrooker Towers' New Year's Eve celebrations - for the uninitiated, this year's details are here.

Alongside the Millbrook glitterati, confirmed attendees include Cousin Dave and Penny Potter so some form of anarchic silliness is likely to ensue. The High Lord of Southwick will be arriving at Millbrooker Towers just in time to wolf some dinner down before changing into his finery and brandishing his concertina. Wrichard and Max Wrecker will be around for the early part of the evening before Wrichard has to head off to play a gig. We might get a spot of melodeon before he wends his way into the New Year elsewhere.

The Millbrooker-Sis has decided that discretion is the better part of valour and is coming for a visit later on, so no  sisterly shenanigans tonight; they'll have to wait for a few days.

So - Millbrooker Towers will be full of guests for a few days and this old steam-driven laptop will be packed away for the duration, both to free up table space and to make sure I spend time hosting rather than blogging - see you all again sometime around next weekend unless I get a quick moment to drivel in the meantime.

And so in the words of my very small niece (who, since coining this memorable phrase has grown somewhat and is a professional, and working, actress)...

Happy New Ears

Happy New Ears to you too! Although I suspect you'd prefer some new eyes instead.

Here's to good health in 2011. Keep up the good work!
